Hello friends! Last weekend, the family and I had a Dr. Seuss celebration. I found a lot of neat ideas on Pinterest. Enjoy the pics and maybe you can use these ideas in your own celebration :).
The Cat in the Hat, Thing 1, and Thing 2 photo poster
The day’s events included reading several Dr. Seuss books, watching two Dr. Seuss movies, playing Dr. Suess games on
http://www.seussville.com/ , eating a Dr. Seuss lunch, and playing Pin the Heart on the Grinch and of course lots of pictures!
I had worked on the decorations on and off for about two weeks. So the night before I set up.
Here’s the Seussville sign. I made everything except the hat. I bought that at Michael’s craft store.
Red and white streamers plus a white table cloth and red plates….simple.
Then I also got this Dr. Seuss poster at Michael’s. I don’t remember when we got the Cat in the Hat’s hat.
We already had several books but did buy a new one, “Oh, the Thinks You Can Think”.
I printed out several Dr. Seuss quotes and framed them with construction paper and put them up around the house. Below are the truffula trees and sky for our “Horton Hears a Who” back drop.
Pin the heart on the Grinch
Mom came over the day before and tried out the Cat in the Hat photo poster :).
Lunch consisted of deviled “Green” eggs and ham sandwiches…
Thing 1 and Thing 2 cupcakes~ this is carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. I used blue food coloring for the frosting.
Mmmmmm
A Dr. Seuss lunch!
Michael made a Dr. Seuss “All About Me” book. You can find it on my Pinterest. Link will be at the end.

I loved our back drop for “Horton Hears a Who”. I decided to keep it in the closet. The sky paper came from Michael’s craft store. The truffula trees are pool noodles, black crepe paper, and feather boas. The Horton ears can be found on the Seussville website and the speck and flower are pom poms and a pipe cleaner.
Me admiring the speck….
